GIVE YOURSELF PERMISSION TO BE

A weekend workshop of conscious dance and embodiment

Are we, as human beings, truly built to move at the speed of modern life?
Can the body handle the pace of this ever-accelerating world?
Are we overloaded—by information, by stimuli, by constant doing?
How is the body responding?

This is an invitation to slow down.
To pay attention. To breathe. To simply be.

Pause, release, breathe, and expand.

SLOWING DOWN CAN BE DEEP

Slow can be connecting, expansive.

It allows us to notice what is unfolding within and around us —
to choose our direction with intention,
to be mindful of the rhythm of our steps.

We’ll cultivate the art of pausing.
We’ll create space to move — freely, lightly, and connected.
Surrendering to flow.
Trusting the body’s quiet wisdom.

Let it be simple.
Let it be gentle.

Come as you are.

 Elena Solomou (CY)

Elena is a kind, warm-hearted, compassionate, and loving woman. She is an educator, an Alexander Technique teacher, and a movement facilitator.

Elena grew up in Cyprus, trained as an Alexander Technique teacher, and was introduced to conscious dance while living in London. Her journey took her across Europe, where she explored a range of movement modalities and studied deeply with her mentor, Adam Barley.

Now based in Cyprus, Elena continues to teach the Alexander Technique in private sessions, facilitate movement events, and organize workshops. Her unique approach blends the grounded wisdom of the Alexander Technique with intuitive, conscious movement.

Elena’s intention is to create spaces where people feel safe enough to pause, let go of expectations, and simply be themselves.

About Alexander Technique

The Alexander Technique is a gentle movement re-educational method that aims to improve posture, coordination, and overall body awareness. It focuses on identifying and changing habitual patterns of movement and tension that can contribute to pain, stress, and inefficient movement.

By studying the Technique, we learn to release unnecessary tension, to change postural habits and develop better coordination of our musculoskeletal system.  This enables us to gain improved posture, move effortlessly with greater ease and efficiency in all activities.

As we promote a more balanced and relaxed state of being we can also manage stress and anxiety in a better way.

During a session the teacher uses gentle hands on guidance and verbal instructions to help the student release tention, become aware of their habitual patterns and learn to make changes.  Usually after a session we experience a sence of lightness and easiness.

Date, Price, Registration

Previous experience with conscious movement is an advantage, not a requirement.
