ABOUT MAITREA
Maitrea was founded in 2006 with the blessing of His Holiness the 14th Dalai Lama. The word Maitrea carries the meaning of "loving kindness". Our mission is to help people connect with and follow their Heart.
House of Personal Development
The House of Personal Development offers experiential seminars that lead one to a deeper and fuller perception of oneself, awareness of one's mission and to finding harmony at the level of body, soul and mind.
With respect for nature
The whole concept of the reconstruction of the house was made by academic architect Oldřich Hozman. The designed structures, the materials used and the technical equipment are chosen to be health-friendly and as natural as possible.
The design is based on the principles of holistic architecture and incorporates the principles of building biology, geomancy and feng shui. Based on the context of their influences, the zoning of the rooms in the house was chosen and the use of appropriate materials was determined.
Clay plasters are used throughout the house. The house is painted with natural casein paints coloured with purely natural pigments. The clay plasters also reduce the content of toxic substances in the air of the urban environment.
What can you find at MAITREA house?
We opened the house in May 2008. It stands in the very heart of Prague, near the Old Town Square, Týn Cathedral and Dlouhá avenue. On the first floor of the house you will find two main seminar rooms. The house also offers additional attic rooms for meditation, massage and individual therapy. In the house you will also find our own Publishing house and in the next building a beautiful vegetarian restaurant.

How can I get to Maitrea?
Where can I park my car?
We are surrounded by the blue residential area. Parking (paid) is possible only in the shopping malls Kotva and Palladium, also in the Rudolfinum building (we recommend to leave the car in the P + R parking lot and to reach us by subway). In front of MAITREA, only short stops for getting off and unloading are possible.
Is accommodation available in Maitrea?
Unfortunately we do not have any accommodation capacity in our building. We recommend Airbnb or this nice and cosy accommodation in a nearby monastery.
Is there any refreshments available?
Small snacks (biscuits, muesli bars, etc.) can be bought on site. Coffee, tea and filtered tap water are available. We take drinks in the seminar rooms only in closed bottles. An adjoining kitchen is designed for consuming refreshments. We recommend to bring your water or tea in a plastic bottle or thermos. If you forget about that, you can buy bottled water on the spot.
For lunch or dinner you can go to our vegetarian restaurant MAITREA. We recommend booking your seat at the phone number: +420 221 711 631 (11.30 am - 11 pm). If booking for a larger group, count with the so-called GROUP OFFER, where there is a choice of about 6 meals, and you will not be waiting for a long time. Reservation is reserved for you only 15 minutes from the agreed time.
